Britney Spears was believed to be present at the ceremony next month after her performance of “Gimme More” was slammed by critics. But her manager Larry Rudolph has denied she will take to the stage. “Britney was never slated to perform at this year’s VMAs,” Rudolph said.
Now Britney is recording her next album and her focus remains on the studio.
The rumor was appeared after her hairdresser, Kim Vo, last week spoke about a hairstyle he had planned for the 26-year-old’s performance.
Britney Spears, who has never won a VMA is up for three accolades at this year’s event – Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Video of the Year, all for Piece of Me.
The ceremony takes place on September 7 in Los Angeles.
